SANTA MARIA – It’s a 500 mile journey and it’s being done on a Segway.

Battling rain, hail and wind, a northern California man is embracing the elements for charity.

Brian Bigley is traveling from San Francisco to San Diego raising donations and awareness for Livestrong the Lance Armstrong foundation for the fight against Cancer.

Riding his Segway, Bigley passed through the Central Coast Sunday for what he is calling the Businessman’s Triathlon.

Bigley’s company SalesImpaq will provide 3% of its product sales to the foundation for the next 12 months.

He says if every small company selected a charity and, raised funds, businesses would be finding solutions to big problems and not leaving it up to the government.
