2. What is the best and fastest way to get operational with SalesImpaq CRM?06 Feb

On the second line below SalesImpaq BETA, click on Help – Getting Started – Assign Quota.

Go to the bottom left corner of the screen and type in your Quota or Sales Goal for the year.  There is no need to add a $ sign to the Quota target amount.  Make sure you click on the SAVE button and then OK pop-up button.

Next, go back to Help – Getting Started – Import Contacts

You have two options to import data into SalesImpaq CRM.

1.       MS Outlook – SalesImpaq will automatically import your .pst or .ost contact file within Outlook.  The importing data process will be fast to very extended based on the amount of contacts you have in this file.

2.       MS Excel – SalesImpaq will import .csv file formats from spreadsheets.  Importing .csv files is more complicated with the SalesImpaq CRM application with the application storing data in Contacts, Accounts, and Opportunities categories.  To correctly map the fields from your spreadsheet, you will need to insure your data file is stored in a .csv and NOT .xls.

The first option, MS Outlook is by far the easiest to implement.  Simply click on the MS Outlook option and the .pst or .ost contract file will auto-populate Contacts within SalesImpaq CRM.

Your second option, MS Excel listed below MS Outlook, is effective, however, requires multiple steps and effort to execute the process of importing existing data in a spreadsheet saved in a .csv file format.  One important note, you need to validate the column name matches the data field in SalesImpaq CRM. An example is Company, Company Name, are the same for the Account Name data field.  First name and last name need to be in separate data fields.  If the first and last names are combined in your .csv file, both first and last name will import into SalesImpaq CRM as first name.  If you can, separate first and last name in your .csv file prior to importing into SalesImpaq CRM.

Click on Import Types and select one of three options:

Import Contacts – Import Accounts – Import Opportunities

Proceed to the next section down, First Row

The first row is asking a question. “Does the first row of your spreadsheet stored in a .csv file format have a header row? (The technical name in a spreadsheet for a column describing a “noun” in the very first row is a “header.”)  If you have titles like First Name, Last Name, Company, Phone Number, etc. this means you have a header names.

Click option 1 – First row contains header names

If not, click option 2 – First row contains data – (no headers) and proceed to:

Data Source File

The Data Source File is where your .csv file is stored.  The .csv file you have named may be in your My Documents folder or else where.  Be sure you know:

1.       The name of the .csv file (contact.csv) you have previously saved and stored the file under.

2.       Where the file is stored on your PC before trying to import the .csv file.

Browse Button

Step 1 of .CSV File Import.  Click the Browse Button and you have options to locate your .csv file you are going to import.

My Network

Once you have located your .csv file for import, double click on the file and the file will automatically load into the File Name and Data Source File field.

Click the Next Button located at the bottom right of the screen.

You are now at Step 2 of the CSV File Import.

There is a new screen with two columns.  You may have the header data list at the top if you selected this option or no header data.  You now need to map or make a correlation between the data on the left side of your screen with the Ignore option.  To the right of verb, Ignore, is a down arrow.  Click on the down arrow. A list of all of the data headers is available in alphabetical order.

Select the correct data field in the drop down window on the right side of the screen for the data listed in the left panel.

Example:

If the left panel has IBM listed, click on the down arrow and select the option, Account Name.

Map all of the left panel data that is listed to the corresponding data fields in the drop down arrow on the right side until completed to your satisfaction.

Remember, you need to import Contacts, Accounts, and Opportunities separately to keep your data in the proper data forms within the SalesImpaq CRM application.

Click on the Import Button and all of the data from the .csv file that you have designated will be imported to the form you have selected with SalesImpaq CRM.

3.       ACT! data can be saved to .pst, .ost, and .csv, file formats.  Please utilize the same procedures to import ACT! data, or any application supporting the .csv file format.

Lastly, importing contacts, accounts, and opportunities, from MS Outlook, or a MS Excel spreadsheet saved in a .csv file format is, “the most important,” process to save you valuable time and effort.  To maximize SalesImpaq CRM, you should import existing contact, account and opportunity data.  You will need to import contacts separately from accounts and opportunities.  You should be operational and closing sales faster within 15 – 20 minutes based on your MS Office experience.  If you are experiencing difficulty and are frustrated after, “giving it a go,” no worries.  You can contact chat support for $24.99 to assist you to complete the data import process.
